Who is your Best Friend ?

To All my FRIENDS for being there when I wanted YOU.

The one who welcomed you to share seat on the first day of the school,
The one along with whom you won the first game of your life,
The one who cried more than you when you were  punished,
The one who taught you to ride a bike,
The one who gave you his shirt to wear on your first date,
The one who is always the first , to give you  new pinch.
The one who always waits for you no matter how much late you are.
The one who sent you the first friend request  on the facebook ,
The one whose phone number you can never forget,
The one who was happier than you when you got the job,
The one with whom you shared first, that you like someone,
The one who danced his heart out in your marriage,
The one who had no friends to go out with, when you got married,
The one who even risked his life for you,
The one who congratulated you first ,
  on your becoming a father,
The one who still sends you birthday cards,
The one who took your ailing parents to the hospital,
The one who will carry you ,
when everything deserts you.

May be one for some and more for others..................

To Sir with Love

Dedicated to Dear sir,
Maheshwar Singh Jamwal

You have a habit of making friend out of everyone,
You hate water but like gin n rum,
You live on smoke pulaao and sun,
You hate hills but not goa and kovalam,
Your commerce is no better than that of a nun,
You heart is full of roses and no gun,
You are allergic to hens but love them when they come out of oven,
You can forget dates names and places but not to have heineken,
You can do anything to watch football cricket and formula one,
You may be jammy for others but for us you are our own Bravo One.

What we want is ?

Some where in jungle

Addressed to all Countrymen who care for their ARMY and The Army men.

We do not want you to pray for us,
We do not want money and perks,
We do not want promises and tears,
We do not want medals and memorials.

What we want ................................From our well wishers is,
not to ask our wives , where is HE ?
When we are not there for birthdays anniversaries and karvachaut,
When we are not there  for the birth of our first born,
When we are not there and they needs us the most,
Because, we also will have no answer to give them for that.

What we want ................................From our relatives is,
not to ask our mothers  ,where is your SON ?
When there is holi diwali or dussera,
When there is birth death or marriage,
When there is no one other to help ,
Because, she will have only tears as answer for you all.

What we want ................................From our  dear ones is
not to ask our kids ,where is your Father ?
When it’s their birthday,
When it’s their first day at school ,
When its new year and Christmas,
Because ,they will ask questions for which we do not have answers.

What we want ................................From our friends  is,
not  to say next time,
When we say ,can we meet,
When we request, one more drink,
When we call in between their meetings,
Because, there could be no next time.

What we want ................................From our dear countrymen
In banks and offices ,  not to say that come tomorrow,
Because for us , that tomorrow will never come.
What we want ................................From our dear countrymen
Sitting in parliament  , north block and newsroom  is ,
Please don’t praise us in time of war and curse us in time of peace,
Because, for us , Its to do or die and never to question why .

Thanks
For being with me , In times good and bad.
For giving me your hand  , when I wanted  help.
For giving me your shoulder  , when I wanted to cry.
For believing in me, when everyone looked away.
For loving and caring me , the way I am.
For being my companion in this life and everafter.

The Ode to an Army officer

Dedicated to all those unknown  unsung an unwept soldiers ,
Who were  killed at the first sight
by the dead drop  looks ........

For you  contours are easy to read than the city maps ,
You feel comfortable in jungles and get lost in metros .
For you time is in hundred hours ,
3 ' O  clock is a direction ,
distance is always in multipals of hundred  meters and you keep on loosing North .
When people meet near pubs , cafes and discs .
You meet near water tanks , bridges and culverts.
For you kenwood and motorola are familiar brands
and apple and blackberry are fruits .
You never knew cars , mobiles and bikes also had series.
The only series you know is the AK's .
You remember names of all tanzimes ,
but do not know the name of IPL  teams .

Stamps on your passport are of congo and sudan
where as others go to bankok and japan.
You remember the raising days,
but forget the anniversaries and birthdays.
When others talk of CEO and COO,
You only know C with only one O .
For u lol and asap is greek
and you  even look for them in appx 'c .
when others talk of pune bangalore and gurgaon
you talk of poonch lalgarh and bongaigaon.
For you ,
The Safety Honour  and Welfare of  your country  comes first , Always and every time .
and women will  be from venus  always and
everytime .
For you green and blue are own ,
Red and pink are danger zones.
For you the choice of arms was more painful than the break up
and chasing girls tougher  than  the march up .
You will travel 500 miles to meet her ,
But will expect her to walk the last five steps.
You can take darbar of 120 rusty men for three hours ,
But will  be afraid to speak three magical words  .

You will crack any code or language ,
But one line message of her's
with few dots and exclamation marks will confuse you.
For all those who thinks he is a flirt ,
He will be the last man standing ,
True  to his words and vows.

The answer is yes... please tell your problem.

On my second day of African safari (Sept 22nd, 2011), I met an officer who looks after the movement of manpower and logistics. He was full of enthusiasm and positivity though his job position happens to be the most harassed and difficult of the appointments.

He invited us to his office and offered us tea, which he prepared himself; it was the best tea I have had in days. The bad taste of tea I was offered on Celebi Airlines was still there on my tongue and the stare of the Russian steward was still fresh in my memory when I asked him for tea with milk. As we drank our tea he asked us; have you people spoken to folks back home? The answer was obviously ‘no’. Before him we met lot of people but nobody asked us this question, they had their own stories to tell. He gave his phone to us and asked us to call back home. I made my first overseas call to my wife after 40 long hrs since I had left Delhi. The soft sound of hello of my wife made me nostalgic, my eyes became moist and my voice chocked; I could sense that my wife was undergoing the same emotions. This was the longest pause in our conversation since the day we started speaking. I thanked the officer and returned to enjoying the tea.

There on the wall was written in bold .

                                                            MOVCON Office Goma

" THE ANSWER  IS :   YES.....    PLEASE TELL YOUR PROBLEM ".
